How Can We Help You Today?

Psycho-Educational Assessments

A Psycho-Educational Assessment is an in-depth look at your child’s current functioning in several domains, including cognitive ability, academic skills, externalizing & internalizing behaviours, and social-emotional skills.

Gifted Assessments

Have you wondered if your child is gifted? Gifted and Talented students learn very quickly and are often very curious about the world around them. They may be bored in school, might have a hard time relating to their peers, and may be incredibly logical. Gifted testing can provide additional information and enrichment opportunities.

ADHD

Do you wonder if you, or your child, has ADHD? Does ADHD run in your family? Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) can look very different from how it is portrayed in the media. The presentation of ADHD varies widely based on age and gender. If you would like an ADHD evaluation for yourself or your child but don’t need a full Psycho-educational assessment, this may be the best option.

PDD/AISH Assessments

In Alberta, PDD/AISH assessments (Persons with Developmental Disabilities/Assured Income for the Severely Handicapped) play a vital role in connecting individuals with the support and financial assistance they need. We provide thorough and personalized assessments to help families understand their eligibility and prepare for applications, ensuring access to essential programs and resources tailored to their unique circumstances.

Capacity Assessments can help with guardianship and trusteeship for seniors

Capacity Assessments

Need documentation to support your application for Alberta’s PDD or AISH programs? Our licensed psychologists provide comprehensive assessments that meet government criteria for cognitive, adaptive, and mental health functioning. We offer a respectful, client-centered approach to help you access the supports you deserve.

Child Counselling

Sometimes as children grow and develop they encounter difficulty. It can be hard for parents to know how to best support them in these times. Consulting with a professional child psychologist can help you feel confident in how to best approach the situation.

Divorce has a big impact on kids and we can help them with the family transition

Divorce Support For Kids

Divorce can be hard on children—even when it’s the right choice for the family. We provide compassionate, child-centered support to help kids make sense of the changes and find stability during and after separation. Our therapists use evidence-based strategies to help children express their feelings, strengthen coping skills, and feel secure in both homes.

In the spirit of reconciliation, Calgary Psychological Services acknowledges that we are located on the traditional territories of the Treaty 7 Nations: the Siksika, Piikani, and Kainai of the Blackfoot Confederacy; the Tsuut’ina Nation; and the Îyâxe Nakoda Nations, which include the Chiniki, Goodstoney, and Bearspaw communities. We recognize and honour the Indigenous Peoples of this region as the traditional custodians of the land, who have cared for and maintained strong relationships with Mother Earth for generations.

Calgary is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta, Region 3, and to many other Indigenous Peoples from across Turtle Island who now call this land home. We hold deep respect for the enduring cultural traditions, knowledge, and connection to land that all Indigenous Nations continue to uphold.

At Calgary Psychological Services, we are committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and affirming space for every individual and family. We proudly welcome clients of all backgrounds, identities, and orientations, including those in the LGBTQIA2+ community.
